Luv2Dants was formed in 1996 by Tuluv Maria Price in Washington, D.C. In 2001 Tuluv relocated the company to New York and reunited with Anthony Burrell. By this time, these dynamic choreographers had already achieved much success in commercial and concert dance settings. They later used these experiences to develop a technically, distinctive style of contemporary movement. Since its inception, Luv2Dants has stimulated audiences across the east and west coasts with its unique blend of modern and hip-hop choreography. Luv2Dants' performances include stunning visual effects that provoke the mind, making the experience unforgettable. Luv2Dants has received positive reviews from the NY Times for "Rhapsody and Who" and "Temporary Space" which was showcased in L.A. at the Debbie Reynolds Showcase in 2004. Luv2Dants has also received recognition for participating in productions such as VH1's first Urban Fashion Awards, George Faison's Firehouse Theater grand opening, the Dance Now New York City Festival, and the musical, Acoustic at the Marcus Garvey Amphitheater. In addition to participating in those productions, Luv2Dants has also been featured on Dance New York, a local television program. Luv2Dants believes that good choreography is unpredictable, exciting and inspired by reality. Luv2dants' masterpieces emphasize the balance between the commercial world and the conventional forms of art. Luv2dants choreography merges the world of the present and the future of the fusion of modern and hip-hop dance. |
